I have a Magnolia tree planted for a few years. I am wondering why it doesn't produce any blooms. I don't know the exact name, but it is huge. It gets plenty of water, but just hasn't ever had any flowers. Can anyone help me with this? I have had this planted for at least 5 or 6 years.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Where are you located? Does it rain very much? How hot/cold does it get?
Magnolias are most strongly associated, in the U.S., with the Southeast due to its prevailing humidity, warm/hot summers, and generally hard-freeze-free winters.
There are some growing here in the S.F. Bay Area, but they don't look as robust, to me, as the ones in the South. (Lived 7 years in Atlanta, other years in Texas and Florida, visited the rest of the South. MIL has an unhappy magnolia in her front yard.)
