I need clearer pictures, in order to attempt an ID. I can't even be sure of the colors of the plant from the pictures posted, since even the building in the background looks purplish. :(

Great, anja! I look forward to seeing them, and hope I can help you learn the name of the plant and a little bit about it. :)

Your shrub looks exactly like this shrub that ID was requested for.
That thread's still open and the shrub not conclusively ID's. Let's see if your inquiry will spur another round, and hopefully someone will know.

I believe that is Himalayan honeysuckle (Leycesteria formosa).

Here is an image for comparison:

This writeup says that the berries "taste like caramel raisins"
does anyone know if they are edible for humans? (Only cause I would just like to taste one!)

Hi anja
I am the person from the other thread who wanted an ID of the same shrub!
We are both now very happy bunnies!
Yes, the ID is correct and I am about to tell all my friends what it is :)
Incidentally, I noted that the "diggingdog centre writeup" on the shrub says its berries taste like caramel raisins
So I have sent them an email to ask if they are really edible by humans!
cheers
