I LOVED this bush in Virginia - What the heck is it???

I found a little bush at a random gardening center that I thought looked interesting. I planted it by my deck and ignored it for a few years. It grew into this amazing thing that I just adored! Now we've moved far away, and I wish I could find it again. Only - I haven't the foggiest notion what I'm looking for. Can anyone help??? The deck edge was about 6 feet tall, so it grew 7' - 8' tall when we started trimming it down a little each year. Also, it had numerous branches rising straight out of the ground, but did not send out runners. Do you know what I mean?

The images won't enlarge for me. I can't see them well enough to attempt an ID. Sorry. :(

Did you follow these instructions given by our webmaster?

Could that plant be the same as this one? If so, it's called Saracocoa. I just stumbled on the images, while searching for something else. As I said, though, I can't enlarge the pics you posted, so I can't be sure these two are the same plant.

If it's evergreen it is Chinese Witch Hazel. Comes in semi-dwarf or standard. Loropetalum.
