Transplanting trees and saplings?

hello all .... I am new here .... first post!

I live in Northern Florida. We have bought a new pc of property and I am going to be wanting to transplant full plants as well as saplings from trees, shrubs and bushes on our current property.

Can I get some suggestions of best time of year to do this? Also to get sapplings started in pots when do I dig these to get them growing to be able to plant in the fall on the new property?

The best time to transplant is after plants go dormant, Nov-Feb. in most protions of the country and make certain the roots retain soil around them after popping them out of the ground because when you transplant any soil must be compacted around the roots so air doesn't get to them. Best way to compact is before you water tamp the soil down with the end of your shovel and them again after you add water after it flows through the soil. Depending on the branching you should also trim back branches by 1/3, except on seedlings and add a handful of bonemeal in each hole to stimulate root growth.
