The only one I'm sure I know is the Red Hot Poker (aka Torch Lily or Kniphofia) it's the one with orange flowers. They do great around here on roadsides that get lots of sun and not much water.

The plant with the yellow leaves looks very like one in my yard. I think it is Euonymus Japonicus 'Chollipo'. I am far from an expert, but I looked for similar plants at a local nursery and checked the tags, then looked up the names on google (images) and found one with that name that looks very like mine. Anyway, it is a way to pursue it. Good luck.

From what I can tell in the first pic, the silver leaf plant with yellow flowers is a Dusty Miller.

In the 2nd pic, the green and yellow variagated shrub is a pittosporum (there are different varieties).

In the 3rd pic, it looks like bearded Iris along the fence??? And, I recognize the plant in front of those but don't know the name.

Looks like everything could use a little trimming and shapping.

Second picture (with the variegated leaves) is Euonymous. I think the third picture is Spiraea.

I think the bottom picture is probably a weigela, but it's a little hard to be sure.

Here's a couple weigela pictures, see what you think:

Hi Elaine,

You in the desert, perchance?

Not onehundredpercent on the first one but I thought brittlebush... (and that IS Kniphophia)

Yes on the Euonymus...

Last one is a Weigelia; 80% sure...

Just clarifying Scott's post a little. The red-orange flower in the foreground is clearly the red hot poker plant. What Scott was referring to as brittlebush is the silvery stuff around it.
