What kind of tree has thorns on its limbs?

I have a tree with thorns on its limbs which I cant Identify and I need help.

    I think the commonest are locust trees, honey locust or black locust.

    Hawthorns (as the name suggests) also have thorns and I think some kinds of pears and olives.

    Pictures would help. Otherwise, tell us more about the tree, what it looks like , how big it is, what the leaves look like, etc...

    Lemon trees can also have nasty thorns, and other citrus as well.

    yup, need a bit more info to be sure. pics? leaf shape? composite or not? does it get flowers/seedpods/fruits, etc.
