Pruning to maintain size for Crimson Pygmy Barberry shrubs

We are now just planting Crimson Pygmy Barberry shrubs and want to know if we can keep them pruned to control too large of plants. We needed the color red to enhance the rest of the shrubs, so chose these.

Any and all information will be much appreciated. Thanks. :D

Best regards.

You'll be able to "shear" them for a couple of years then you want to do a heavy a cut back and let them rejuvenate every 3 to 5 years depending on small you want to confine them.

Personally I would try to find an alternative, but thats my personal preference.

Do these produce edible berries?
