Hicks Yew

Hi,
I'm in Utah and looking for a little help with an area that needs to be overhauled. I have a 6' fence that has a busy street on the other side. About 5' off of the fence I have 60' tall pines spaced about every 20'. The total width is about 60'. Right now Oregon Grapes is growing there. It's well established, but looks straggly. It gets watered regularly with auto sprinklers. I am thinking of planting Hicks Yew about every 3'. I have some muric acid to help them grow quicker. Does this sound like o.k. plan? :D

Hold the acid; the pines will take care of that themselves...

3 feet off center will take some time to grow together, but that seems ok. You aren't in Utah desert country, right?

I am in Salt Lake City. They will get watered regularly, but no real moisture in the air.

Well it needs the water, but I think you are fine.
