I have a Robinia (False Acacia) which I planted 3 years ago. I noticed that one of the main branches seemed to be "hanging" slightly and on closer inspection realised that the branch has split from where it joins the trunk - it must have happened when it snowed recently. Is there anything I can do as its one of the main branches and still a young tree. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
It depends how much it is torn off. If not much you might want to find some grafting wax and tie it together with a wax string to hold it together. You'll find out in the spring if it worked when the leaves start budding.
