help please what could this be?

the stem of my tomatoe plant has some sort of growth on it. My plant has turned so fragile that the branches have snapped off in several places. It did produce some tomatoes but the plant is almost dead what could this be? There are some pics. oh yea the branches did not grow straight the branches kinda twisted around.
