Cucumber Mosaic Virus
Does anyone know anything about cucumber mosaic virus? I was trying to identify my tomato problem, and the pictures shown for this virus look very similar to the tops of my tomatoes.
Mosaic virus quite often looks like several other problems. The biggest one is usually herbicide damage, but there are others. The only way to know for sure is to have the plant analyzed with an electron microscope : your county extension office may know who to send a sample to if you want it analyzed to find out.
From what I have read, mosaic virus seldom kills the host plant, but its rather stunted, sickly looking, and produces less fruit. If your pretty sure it is in fact mosaic or a viral disease, there isn't a cure for it, the plant will need to be removed and destroyed.
