Tomato plants green leaves curling downward and drying

I planted tomato seeds inside a few weeks back, and they are not doing great. The leaves are drying up and curling from the bottom of the plant to the top.

I used new soil and a florescent light about 12 to 14 hours a day, with small ventilator to help strengthen the plant before we plant them outside. We added a small amount of eggshell powered up in the bottom of the pot because last year they were missing calcium constantly. There are some little flies sometimes that hang around, but only few. There seems to be no other bugs. Does anyone have an idea as to why the leaves are dying?

As for the leaves, I don't know I'll let somebody smarter answer that. But those plants look spindly, due to inadequate lightening. I never start mine indoors, it causes them to get spindly very quickly.

Also, how much water are you providing? What kind of soil are you using?
