Hi,
So I decided to get a random mix of cherry tomato seeds from sampleseeds. Due to lack of space, I tried one seed.

Here is the fruit. Let me know what type of tomato it is?

Java.

Java,

Identifying a tomato variety from a photo is nearly impossible.

 Sorry

Hi, This is Remy the owner. It is Red Star. All the seeds in the mix are from tomatoes I grew. If you ever have a question again about what you've grown, just send me an email :)

Ooh one I hadn’t heard of before! Quick search yielded favorable impressions / descriptions.
Thanks for joining and ID’ing this variety.
Welcome to the forum :D

There's Remy!

Before Sample Seed Company, I asked Remy about a similar variety. Ceylon may have just "made the scene" in the US and she was giving it a trial.

Remy kindly sent me some seeds to grow. I'm sure that I was not a very good judge but it sounds like that I would have been better off with Red Star. However, neither may grow well here with arid conditions and my overhead irrigation. Lobed tomatoes tend to split. In fact, many varieties split.

Good ... very good ... to see a post by Remy!

Steve
