I am new to gardening this year. It has been years since I have grown anything. I tried to start tomato plants with limited success. They are on the south side of house with plenty of sunlight. Some plants look good, others are falling over and dying. I water every few days when the soil is dry and pan is empty. For the ones that are doing good. When do they need fertilizer and what kind? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

They really look to me like they are not getting enough light. What kind of light are they getting?
I try, every year, to start plants by a sunny window. It just never works all that well... much better off with grow-lights that have the right UV wavelength or putting the babies outside when the temps are right.

I did over water the plants. The trays were dry last time I checked. They were full of water that drained out of the pots. They were heavy to move. I poured off the extra water. A temporary light system has been setup. The photos are not the best for some reason. I might transplant some of them this weekend.
