So I caught this little critter under my plants..

I noticed that my leaves started looking very pale and like something was eating them. I looked under and nearly every one of my leaves that has holes has this little critter under it,

any ideas what it is? will insecticidal soap kill it? It moves like a caterpillar and when i picked it up with my toothpick, it had spider type webbing coming from its tail.. and when i spun the toothpick it released more.. so theres some sort of webbing coming from it.

I have the same question also. I found one of these on my tree I grew from a twig. And I accidentally squished it with a flower pot and Lots of green liquid stuff popped out. It was gross!!

I am thinking looper? I cannot tell one moth larvae from another. Diatomaceous earth, Bt will work on caterpillars. Most of those are from night flying moths. If you put down row covers before they lay their eggs you could exclude them. Look under the leaves for eggs and caterpillars.

I have more cabbage butterfly. The adult butterflies flit around the plants in the daytime and the larvae are under the leaves. It is a good way to keep the kids occupied chasing butterflies with nets.
