I now have 11 everglades plants started with 2 already having blooms. The seeds were irregular as to germination times. A couple sprouted fast while others were very slow to sprout. Two are a foot tall and one just sprouted. Next variety will be Bloody Butcher. Pics to follow.

I never heard of them before, so I looked them up on youtube they were featured by Growing your greens. John Koehler. They are a wild currant tomato that apparently can become a tomato weed.

They are tiny, disease resistant, and heat resistant, and they actually taste like real tomatoes. They are also also prolific.

I have been harvesting a double handful of tiny tomatoes a day for about 3 weeks now. Now all but one plant is finished. The lone good plant was my experiment using dry cat food for fertilizer. That plant is everywhere. It is still growing and still blooming. I am totally sold on the cat food.

The last surviving plant is an everglades fed by dry cat food. It is everywhere. The first 3 pics are a long view.

This might be the last harvest for the Everglades tomato. It's getting too hot here for even them.

Wow that WAS a long run. So, what's the final verdict on these?
Did they perform? How was the flavor, and did it change in the course of the season?
Will you grow them again?

Good flavor, good disease resistance, very prolific, not quite heat proof. Key is fertilization using dry cat food. I am convinced. I will absolutely grow again.
