plant already has small tomato growing...too early?

A couple of my plants have a marble sized tomato growing. I've never had a tomato show up so early on a plant. It has been less than 50 days. Instinctively in concerns me that somehow it may not be a good thing... thoughts?

How long have the plants been in? What varieties?

Can you ever have a tomato too early? Tomatoes usually start to ripen near the end of June in this area. We have been harvesting since late April.

What kind of tomato do you have? The early tomatoes like early girl and fourth of July do set early. If your plant is at least 50 days old it may be about right. If your plant is small and setting, and it is not a dwarf, it may have been kept in the pot too long, or too small a pot, or did not get enough fertilizer.
