Advice on growing dwarf Roma Tomatoes

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me if I could get away with planting a dwarf Roma Tomato plant in a 36 cm square planter?

If this size is not appropriate what is the minimum size would you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance.

I grow tomatoes in 5 gallon minimum for a small tomato (2-4 ft)
Large tomatoes or indeterminates of any size fruit in 18 gallon containers

In pots of 12 inches or less and at least 8 inches deep, I would only plant miniatures like tumbling tom or red robin. They can fit in a 4 inch pot or 3-4 in a hanging basket.

If you have a determinant roma, the smallest I would go is a 5 gallon pot. If you go any smaller, then you would have to water the tomato 2-3 times a day. Tomato roots are pretty extensive.

Thanks for your response Imafan26. Since I need so much space I am going to postpone planting those seeds. Maybe I'll do it next year.

Thank again.
