Slowing down on tomatoes - I used to grow 25 every year, but the blight took most of them out the last two years. This year, I am not even putting the plants close to each other - they will be 5 feet apart and I will fertilize more often.

This is a mutant of green zebra that was captured last year.

I'm more curious about the origin of the double plural "girls girls" part of the name. :?:

Hard to say really. We were talking in a chat room one night a while back, than the name thing came up and this is what she settled on. Other than that I am not sure. I would put up a link to a thread all about this tomato but this forum will not allow it.

LOL :D
Correct name is "Girl Girl's..." and I remember it as that they have a dog named "Girl Girl" and this dog likes to eat (I.e. steal) tomatoes and particularly favored this tomato.

...I have the seeds, but somehow managed to overlook this variety when I was in frenzy of seed starting. I'm in the process of more-or-less final tally of what will definitely get planted, then Once I have that locked down, I'll be able to really see what's left and what I can or can't do to plant some more, etc. :()

Yes Apple is right I was thinking wrong. Her dog is Girl Girl and the mutant is a weird thing. She stating that she wasn't creative and that is all she could come up with. But I happen to love the name. 8)

Here is a pic of what a friend of mine Blane came up with last year. Definitely not Green Zebra that is for sure, but was stated as being very good flavor wise and the color is so awesome. Here's to a great run with this one and the many other variety's I have. Never fear I will be flooding the forum with pics and info this season.

Gixxerific, how did you like Cherokee Lime? I have not been able to locate it, but did get seeds for Cherokee Lemon, and Cherokee Lime Stripes both from Marianna's. I started seed for both last Saturday, since our season is just about to start. Any opinion on either or both of these?

Cherokee lime was pretty dang good, though I am not a big fan of greenies. I have not grown the others you mentioned but most everything from the "Cherokee" line has been outstanding. I have heard good things about the Lemon not much on the Lime Striped though.

Good luck

Thank you for the info. Would you know of a public seed source for C. Lime so I can buy some?
