In trouble, right?!

I think I just realized that my tomatoes are going to overgrow my "florida weave." The posts you see in the pictures are only like 5 feet tall, and I just read where brandywine and early girls can reach 9 feet tall. I guess I'm fine with the rutgers, but I may have a mess soon.

I did the same thing. My early girls are 4 feet tall right now, and my stakes are only 6. They aren't showing any signs of slowing down either.

Yep you can see the early girls in the back left of this pix. The brandy are the whole you're on the right.

I am using the florida weave too, so far so good. One thing you can do is clip the growing tip if you don't want it getting too tall.

Agree with PR... they can get 9 feet tall, but you don't have to let them...

Crazy...I was JUST thinking the same thing this morning on my way to work!

First year I've tried the floridia weave (didn't know that's what it was called...saw some commercial growers using the method) and a couple of my maters (forget the name) are already at the top of the 5' post. I think I'll let it out grow the post a little bit then start pinching the growth tips.

I guess it's better to have tomatoes too big then ones that don't grow at all!

Yeah I wonder if they droop over if that is a bad thing? I'm thinking of tieing them until I run out of post, and then letting the droop.

Break out the duct tape, and just duct tape another 3 feet of something to your posts.

Did you see the Mythbusters episode where they lifted a car with it? They also built a watertight boat that floated two full grown men. I imagine if you wrap it right, it will hold.
