re using tomato support after late blight.

Hi, I'm not sure where to post this so I hope this is ok. Last year my crop of tomato plants got late blight so I had to get rid of them. I was just wondering if I could re use the bamboo poles again this year that were supporting my tomatos last year? Will I have to disinfect them before I use them again or will they be ok as they are.Thanks. Mark

I would give them a dip in chlorine. Diluted 10 to 1 or 1/4 cup per gallon

Better rethink your math, or I've got mine way wrong. A pint to a gallon would be 8-1. 1/4 cup would be something like 32-1 or if you are solving for for a gallon of dilute solution the pint would come out 7-1, the 1/4 cup 31-1

Thanks Alan. :D I was quoting from other sites, I didn't do the math. :wink:

1/4 cup = 2oz.
128oz = gallon

64:1
