What size tomato post would you rather buy?

I was wondering what size tomato post you think best all around! 5 foot or 6 foot or would a 5 foot 6 be the best! I would think 9 inches to a foot goes into the ground so is 4 foot high enough or is 5 feet above the ground better?

The taller the better unless you are growing determinate. my cages go up about 8 foot and all my tomatoes grow over that.

Yes bigger is better. NOTHING under 5 foot will even be feasible. I have CRW cages that are 5 foot, but I had plants than went 12 foot or better last year.

Just read a book by Charles H. Wilber called "How to grow World Record Tomatoes" With his method he has Guiness records of 28' 7" tomatoe plants. He would just keep adding CRW cages on top of each other.

So what was his secretes to growing these monsters??? Where was he from? Mid southern states was it?

O, wait, I know, buy the book! LOL

8' is better, but I digress, I'm a cage freak myself :)
