Hi,
Earlier this evening I was at the store and picked up a packaged of " Baby Heirloom tomatoes". I would like to be able to ID all of them because I might keep some seeds from them. I know 3 of them I think, the others I am not sure.
The first 3 I believe are black/chocolate cherry tomato, yellow pear, and red cherry.

Now these 4, the one that is dark could be a black/chocolate cherry, but it looks different. It has the same type of stripe markings you see in red and green zebra tomatoes. The upper light tomato is orange and the lower light one is yellow. And then the red one has a shape just like and apple.

I went to their website and they listed these as their tomatoes:
Yellow pear
Chocolate Cherry
Red Grape
Red Pear
Cherry
I don't see red pear also they had a pic of a green tomato on their site too and that's not in the package either. Anyway, help would be appreciated. Thanks

The yellow pear is most likely beam's yellow pear, if it is very sweet that is likely what you have.
The dark one is most likely chocolate cherry and there is some variation in size and color in my experience.
The red looks like any red cherry you might get from burpees, NK etc, nothing special.
Note the first two are indeterminates.
As for the grape like tomatoes they could be any of several, from looking a pics I doubt anyone will be able to tell for sure.

I think we've solved the problem of the striped one, which is a hybrid and if it were me I wouldn't save seeds to use myself or trade unless they had a a label on them, meaning, if trading especially, use known seed for your plants to save seeds from.PunkRotten wrote:Hi,
