Really weird tomato problem...

I am a very new gardner. Anyway, this past summer, I had several tomato plants that produced very little fruit during the summer. When fall arrived, they started producing like crazy! How can I get them to produce lots in the summer, too? Thanks.

Hi Writerightmom,

Without knowing your location and the growing and weather conditions it would be difficult to say exactly what the problem was. I suspect that heat might have been a problem as tomatoes often stop producing in extreme heat.

This is most likely the variety of tomatoe that you have chosen to grow, for tomatoes all summer and fall long, choose several varieties. One that ripens in the early summer, one for late summer and one for fall.

Also, plant them in full sun so that the fruit recieve sun all day. This will speed the ripening process.
