Someone told my brother-in-law that cottonseed meal works great around tomatoes. So he is giving it a try, putting a small handful around the plants. It is supposed to be slow release, and the internet shows the makeup to be about 6-1-1
Anybody heard of this?
I amended my raised beds this past fall with a lot of organic material plus a lot of alfalfa pellets to encourage earth worms and dried molasses to encourage microbial growth. I simply mixed it all together and added it to the top of my beds and allowed the mixture to blend with the soil over the winter. It worked great. My beds are very fertile and the earth worms are going nuts. This fall, I plan including cotton seed meal in the mix.
