What Cherry Tomato?

I planted a tomato today, from Walmart, about 4" tall and very healthy.
The tag just says "Cherry". Would this mean a "generic" type? I'm hoping so, because I miss the flavor of the cherry tomatoes I knew as a kid in the early 1960's.
They weren't sweet, they had a beefsteak flavor.
I poked a hole in three big calcium soft gels and poked them down deep around the plant. I've never done that before. Also added rabbit poo (I have two pet boys) and some all-purpose organic vegetable food.
