This is a plant that was yanked out of a container to make room. I just crudely yanked it and transplanted it next to my porch to see what would happen..... YIKES!!!!

Is the house built on a nuclear dump site????? That is one huge tomato plant. I've had tomato plants 6 ft. tall but this one looks to be close to 8 ft. and still healthy enough to grow more.

It is close to 9 ft tall... It is still growing. I think its going to hit 11 ft by the end of summer.

I think I know why its so big but I'm reluctant to say....lol

I always thought there was some rich soil down in bayou country, but that plant beats all. We better bring in the Ghost Busters guys and set them see what those roots have found.

Are you fertilizing it like crazy? It is a huge plant, but I don't see very many tomatoes on it. Lots of nitrogen in the soil can do that, produce big leafy plants at the expense of fruiting.

We can guess My guess is that something was using that as a latrine area (dogs? there used to be an outhouse or septic tank in that spot years ago?) so it is full of poop...Would explain the huge growth and lack of fruit.

I was going to plant a starter I had when I ripped it in half at the soil level of the pot it was in. I just SHOVED it in the ground and walked away. Well it's smoking all the other plants of the same variety.

Go figure?

By the way that thing has gone crazy. Nice job.

I need to get some pics of my Jan starter cherry it is more than 8 ft tall now.

P.s just took a second or third look at that, and Holy $&%$ that thing is huge.

A couple of my cherry tomato plants are easily 8' tall & bursting with fruit. I don't know why but I'm not questioning,
