Second Crop

We have had some hot days in Alabama. My first batch of tomato plants did pretty good, and we are still enjoying some great tomato sandwiches.

Each year I try to grow a second batch. This is the first year that I have had any luck, and I wanted to brag on them. They are planted in my back yard, get sunlight from about 10am to 3pm. They are planted in dirt that I got from the woods, so several years of leaves composting. I planted them long ways, instead of real deep like I normally do, since the soil was not that deep. They have gotten water every other day from my irrigation system, and some extra every now and then (the ground is slanted and water runs off quickly). The squirrels LOVE them so I have a battle going on with them.

Very nice! Those are nicer than my first (and only) batch! What kind are they?

These are Better Boy and Celebrity, same as I had for my first crop.
