The largerst mater yet!

Somehow, I was expecting the largest mater to come from ether one of the Brandywines (Sudduth or Cowlick's) - nope, not exactly...

Bull's Heart - 1.9lbs, just missed the 2lbs mark by less than an ounce  From the lowest cluster as well...

Last year, largest one from Bull's Heart was 24oz. Will be eaten at dinner today

With the super-twin configuration, it REALLY is reminiscent of a giant heart, isn't it? I'm seeing a lot of those too.
Enjoy!

P.S. Here's one of my Bull's Heart from the seeds you gave me. The point on the one to the right is almost an afterthought.

The other ones are in the Sunny Meadow -- more open space but perhaps not as rich soil, and cooler than the protected, but crowded New Tomato Bed. Can't wait to try them! 8)

P.P.S. Here's a super-twin Black Plum:

Odd looking but tasty looking. I believe that's a keeper my friend. :D

Here is a Giant Syrian which I believe I got from from D_V (sorry can't remember at this time too much black cherry vodka and tonic  )
it is a bit tore up but it is huge, I found it this morning and thought it was 2 grown into one. But while taking the pic I saw that it was a single tomato.

Apple - glad to see you growing Bull's Heart, I think you will like it! Amazing how nature sometimes plays around, creating some of the most amazing shapes and sizes!

Gixx - lol, cold beer for me today! Got to stay cool, thermometer showing 104F. Nice size on that Giant Syrian, but nope, not from me... Don't forget to take a pic before you eat it!

Regards,
D

Wow, what a 'mater. I don't think they make sandwich bread that big. Thanks for sharing the picture.

Nice one DV! I've got a super-bloomer just starting but it looks like it will get huge.
