First fruit of the season!

So yesterday, I went out to the garden and found this bad boy hangin' from one of my Big Boy plants

I found another on one of my other Big Boys but when I went to touch the truss to look under the bloom to see it the flower just came off
It's ok though, almost all of my tomato plants have flowers on 'em, can't wait!
I have a question for you tomato garden experts. On average how long does it take from the time the fruit appears until the tomato is ready to eat?
I know it varies from plant to plant but does anyone have any insight for me?

I figure I have about a week to go yet, depending some on the weather

So my tomatoes are struggling a bit: all through these weeks we have had too much rain and not enough sunshine and the spot where these are planted is too shaded by trees and not enough sunshine. On June 5, I took down one of the trees shading it, and it got a little better. Still not enough sunshine, but better than it was before that.

So depending on your conditions, it could go a little faster, but eating tomatoes is still weeks away...

I'm not in a huge hurry but I'm getting restless so I can taste my own grown tomato for the first time in my life
The weather here has been ideal, last week it was raining a lot but the plants seemed to like it a lot. This week it has rained like twice

That is what it is all about. You shouldn't be dissapointed. And think of the money you will save because you will NEVER EVER buy store bought tomatoes again.

I have so many tomato plants in my garden I think I'll be eating tomatoes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner until November.
The gardener told me to space my plants a foot apart from each other which now when I look back wasn't really a good idea.
Here's a picture so you know what I'm talking about:

In front of the camera there's just pepper plants, a german pink plant, and a big boy, but towards the back is where all my tomatoes are and they're like overlapping each other. Oh well :p

I would say the absolute minimum spacing for tomatoes is 2 feet. Some people go as far as 5 feet in between, but they have a lot of land obviously.

I normally go somewhere in between 2 and 3 feet.

Oh well! Now I just gotta bring a machete to cut through my jungle of tomato plants when harvest comes

Nice bunch of plants
I have 2 rows 6 feet apart at the base of the plants.
The plants in the row are 18 inches apart and grow together.
I can get on the two sides and reach in and trim plants and harvest from either side. It works well.
