Yeah, we might just get some rain tonight, and not just a passing shower. I'm thinking of picking it so it doesn't crack, though I wanted to see how red it would get if left on the vine until the 30th....
You have no idea how careful I've been to make sure that all the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks have sources of water.

Man, mine are just starting to turn. Although, the cherries may ripen sooner than the stupice. They were both planted May 1.
Hmmm...perhaps I'll go out on the 30th with my red paint--er--uh--I mean camera and I might just get lucky and find a red tom
Oh well, 4 of July toms doesn't sound too bad either.

Moskvich is a Russian Heirloom. 60 days, according to descriptions.
I started the seeds on 2/18, along with Moskvich, Jr. (saved seeds from last year) and Yellow Bell. Transplanted them (I think, on or around 4/11).
Moskvich was our best tasting slicing tomato last year. It has some stiff competition this year though...
Thanks to all for cheering him on!

This one is done for the most part. So who's on for the last tomato of the year.
Yup June racer tomatoes are over... anyone who doesn't have ripe tomatoes yet, didn't make it!
By last tomato of the year, do you include picked green and ripened indoors? I have sometimes had the last of those for Thanksgiving. But I know hendi_alex and some of the more southern folks have homegrown tomatoes in December.
Congratulations, Applestar, that tomato ripened up fast at the end and you did get a beautiful June tomato!
