Dried tomatoes

I dry two years worth of tomatoes every other year. So next year I'll plant about a dozen drying tomatoes. So far I've only used regular Roma types for drying. I'm wondering if someone would make recommendations for what you think are the best, tastiest varieties for drying. I'm feeling adventurous and would like to try a few new varieties next year.

It takes about one day to dry the tomatoes to a leathery texture.

You would not believe the number of trays that it took to fill these two one quart bags.

I believe its applestar who was goin crazy with drying or dehydrating everything she could think of so she will prob. have some info on this subject
