I have a tomato plant problem that I can't resolve with my reference book! I have several tomato plants, some in pots and some in soil. All are producing nice fat tomatoes (yet to turn red). Yesterday I noticed that the stem of the one that was previously the heartiest has started to turn black and the leaves are curling. A couple of the tomatoes have developped brown patches too. The plant next to it is perfectly healthy, as is the courgette [ed. note I believe this is what we in US call zucchini] plant in front of them. They are all fed once a week with tomato feed, and watered regularly. I don't understand why just one plant is affected and if it might be fatal. Should I pick the fruit and destroy the plant or is there a fix please?
Hi! Welcome to the forum. Hope you find it friendly and helpful. There are lots of other UK folks floating around here.
I took the liberty of moving your post to the Tomato section where a lot more people will see it who may be able to answer your question. I also put a more specific reference in the subject line.
Hopefully amongst all the experienced gardeners full of good garden lore around here, we will come up with a good answer for you.
