adding compost to tomato garden

I'm growing heirloom varieties of tomatos that are currently 24" to 34" tall and looking GOOD!

I have some real nice soil (straight and direct from the compost pile that's at least a year old) and am wondering if spreading it around the tomato garden now would be beneficial to these existing plants, or should I wait until the season is over?

I will also have more "ready-to-go" compost to add to my garden prior to next spring's planting

I'm hoping to hear from all you experienced growers for your helpful knowledge, since I'm somewhat new to gardening.

Thank you in advance, I appreciate all the help I can get.

It sounds like your tomatoes are doing very well right now, I would save your compost for next year to boost the soils nutrients again.
