Re-potting Progress

Hi everyone:

Well, I thought I'd post a current photo showing the results of my goofy re-potting process (re: 1/3 garden soil, 1/3 peat moss, and 1/3 compost)

At least so far, they're running away with themselves!

Now I'll add a few comments for those crazy enough to try this. (1) Bambi (from the forum, here) had some tomato plants that were failing badly... and suddenly, as I recall. She tried this, and I got a message from her saying that maybe just one plant seems to be recovering, and just slightly. Possibly the plants were just too far gone to start with, and there's no way to know what made them start failing in the first place. But also, maybe my goofy mix doesn't work in every case...just wanted you to be aware. (2) As you see in the piture, I'm using Peat-pots, and with the new "loose" mix, I'm finding that I have to water them more frequently than I would with just soil.

Anyway, there you have it.

Garry

P.S. Can someone tell me why only the link (not the picture) shows up here? You guys show the pictures, so obviously I'm doing something wrong...dunno what, though.

it's not even a link, in the sense that you could click on it and get taken to the picture. It would have to be pasted into to the browser ...

They look terrific! Good save on those plants.

Thanks, Cynthia. They do seem to be pretty healthy now, but I wish I could take credit for more than luck and a little TLC. That kooky mixture was nothing more than a gut-call. Rotten shame it didn't work for Bambi's plants, but I think she's gonna take one to a local nursery and get their take on what's wrong.

RainbowGardner: Hmmm! Well darn, I thought I was doing what the "IMG" icon says when you put the cursor over it (surround the link with IMG and /IMG. So...what exactly should it be, then? Should it be just the link itself, such as (https://www.lewisaire.com/plant.html)? That is the link to the proper web page, by the way. Any chance you could maybe show me the exact line of text it takes to do it right?

Thanks,
Garry

Garry, I've never posted photos here (not owning a digital camera...), but the webmaster's guide at

https://www.helpfulgardener.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3724

looks pretty thorough and step-by-step.

Hope you have success with your photos!

Cynthia
