You want Atropa belladonna? I have a deadly nightshade, but I don't think it's Atropa belladonna.

This is the kind I have:

If you're after the kind I have, I'll be happy to send you some berries, but it'll have to be later in the year, maybe midsummer. I don't remember exactly when it bears.

The plants are not the same but I don't think there is much difference between the two. Everybody in Missouri grows deadly nightshade whether they want to or not.

Yeah. After I made that post, I considered whether I wanted to spread the stuff around more than it already is. I fight a constant battle with it. Then I decided it's probably already spread throughout the country pretty thoroughly.

The plant I have is also known by the name Woody Nightshade. The scientific name is Solanum dulcamara. I think it isn't as poisonous as Atropa belladonna, since it has a long history of use in herbal medicine. Atropa belladonna, I'm pretty sure, was primarily used as a poison.

If you're set on Atropa belladonna, you can purchase some seeds at Horizon Herbs in Oregon (Kisal's hangout, or closer than I am to it...):

Just search for "belladonna." They have five plants whose common name is "belladonna"; only one is Atropa belladonna.
