Germinating Japanese Gray Bark Seed

I need the advice of someone who has had success in germinating tree seed. I want to grow some for training into prebonsai. I have tried before with little success. Thanks Papa. :(

Papa Mel I would put this on the tree and shrub forum I am not sure what kind of tree this is but I have wonderful luck letting mother nature do it for me I find a good spot plant and mark it some trees have a very hard covering you can use sand paper or nick it with your pocket knife to allow moisture to get in and I think most tree seed need be stratified or go through a cold spell you can trick them by placing in your freezer for a couple months hope I helped good luck
