To mulch or not to mulch, that is my question.

I recently planted some young Asian Jasmine. Then I put down some red cypress mulch around the plants. Now I am wondering if that was the correct thing to do. Or should I remove the mulch ? Thanks for any help, suggestions or ideas.

What are you worried about?

Should be fine as long as the mulch doesn't touch the plants. Just keep a little circle around the stems bare.
