Brick Patio Edging/Small Retaining Wall

Hey everyone!

I am re-doing the front flower beds. I want to do some brick edging/small retaining wall. I have a few questions regarding the slopes, etc.,

1. When the bed nears the front step/entrance it slopes off, how will I deal with this? I don't want to let the brick slope and have it looks super unnatural, I of course want to have a brick underneath to keep them moving level. Will this weird to have a small spot with bricks underneath keeping it level?

2. Should I continue the edging/wall against the front step, right up to the house? Or should I end it when I get to the path? In the third picture you can see by the mailbox the front step, should I have it go behind the mailbox and up to the front of the house? Or simply stop where the raised front step is?

3. The smaller flower bed on the right runs along the path. I am wondering if I should just install plastic trim along the pathway? Or if I should do the brick/wall against the pathway/driveway as well?

Thanks in advance for your help!
