Added Privacy with Privacy Fence

I just put up my 6' vinyl privacy fence, but my neighbor's driveway is higher than his lot. So I was trying to come up with a way to add something above the fence for added privacy (20-24 inches more). I thought about faux ivy on lattice. But I'm trying to determine what to use to hold up the lattice. Needs to be strong enough, but not too noticeable. Or if anyone has any other ideas, I will consider those. Thanks.

I think you may have to consider the possibility of wind damage. An 8' fence has to be sturdy and most likely the 6' vinyl fence posts you have might not support an 8' fence, just sayin'. Maybe check with your supplier to see if they offer any options? Could you possibly plant some kind of a hedge that will grow to cover the area above your new vinyl fence?

It might help us come up with ideas if you could show a picture of what the fence looks like.

I think the fake ivy would be very tacky looking and after a couple seasons in the weather will be very bedraggled. The lattice would be better plain.

Here's a little article about extending your fence height:

Depending on what kind of fencing, you might be able to add fence top planters, with plants in them to screen the view. There are planters that hang on the fence:

and ones that fit over it:
