Going on vacation with new garden

I would it a big mistake if someone went away on vacation for 7 days after they planted a new front garden and didn't have it watered by someone? Would those days gone be a disaster without water or would it be doable?

Its even worse when you have a greenhouse that is 50 miles away and you only get there once a week and its 120 with the sun ut!! Outside plants need less care unless its extremely dry! I feel your pain ! Where did I hear that before!

Depends totally on the types of plants and the weather. Exposure also plays a role.

But in general, newly planted stuff is way more fragile than it will be once well established. Check the weather forecast. If it will be cloudy a lot and get some rain while you are gone, it will probably be fine. Hot and dry would absolutely kill all your new planting in a week. It's a lot easier to pay some one to water a couple times than to lose all your hard work.
