New yard - Need ideas on patio area ground covering

Hello from Reno, NV

My husband and I have a new house that definitely needs some work in the back yard. We have an area maybe 15'x15' outside out sliding door that needs some kind of flooring. I was thinking fine DG, but this area will be used as a patio area and may have a temporary pool on it. Any suggestions? Of course the most economical is important as well.

Thanks!

I have no clue what DG is but then you say fine which means tracking anything in on the bottom of your shoes. Buy some pre-cast concrete 12X12 or slate and lay it down and if you like it then use a sand base and dry mortar to keep in place.

DG is decomposed granite which is probably something that would track easily. I may use that for the slope in my backyard with some native bushes.
