Any input would be appreciated..
I'm in Fort lauderdale FL. Have a house that the front faces almost due west, have a huge Black olive tree ( I think ) that gives the area I'm trying to landscape almost entire shade from noon to sundown. What can I plant in the hot FL weather that will grow in the shade. I have worked the soil and can adapt the soil to whatever will ahve a chance of growing. Thanks..

get to know floridata.com. It's a great website for all you FL gardeners. Here's a list from it of plants for Florida climate and shade:
https://www.floridata.com/lists/shade_plants.cfm
If you click on any of the plants on the list, it gives you more info about it.
I can picture you making your space look very lush and tropical with ferns and lots of what us northerners consider house plants... monstera, elephant ear, shell ginger, aspidistra, philodendron, etc.
