Clippers guaranteed for life?

We are starting our yard landscaping
projects, (came with the house)

long story short, bought really nice pair of clippers
and yet there is nothing stating how to clean them...

I figure if they guarantee them for life, you have to take care of them
I don't want to clean them with soap and water,
how about oil, that is what my mom used on her sewing machine..
but maybe I use nothing.
.
please help with what is probably a very simple question.
too embarrassed to ask anyone else.
thanks for understanding.
