Slope

My yard has a deep slope behind which is a small patch of woods.
The slope is too steep to mow and every year I deal with the issue of grass and weeds growing up. So far all I have been able to do is use grass/weed killer. Any ideas on what I could plant on the slope to squeeze out the grass and weeds?

It depends on exposure. If full sun junipers would be great but will not smother the grass unless you put down a weed barrier and mulch but then the rain will wash that down the hill. Keep working the weeds. If it is partial sun vinca would do well. Ever think of terracing? I know money and work. There are no easy soultions.

What about a boat load of wild flowers? Seems as if a nice bag of seed broadcast all over the hill would be good. Not only would it eliminate maintenance, but the flowers would draw bees and other beneficial insects to your other gardens.
