Ripped out the old, need help with the new

I recently ripped out some old bushes from infront of my house and am seeking some advice on things to plant in their place. I used to have a mixture of daisies and these tall purple licorise smelling plants (sorry it was in a mixed basket when I planted it a few years back and cannot remember what it was called). I LOVED the purple flowers but the daisies took over...lol. It's a blank canvas now except for a grace smoke bush on one end. I get FULL SUN with no obstruction on this part of my house. I was thinking of maybe smoke bushes with something else as ground cover but I'm not married to that idea. I really like fountain grasses but really havent found much of a selection. Any advice will help. It's a rectangular flower bed that measures about 4ft by 15ft.
