Too many cover crops?

I wonder if it's possible to overdo it with cover crops.

Last spring I created a new gardening space (about 4ft. x 15 ft.) First thing I did was plant a crop of a mixture of winter and annual rye. Then, when it got thick, dug it under. Then planted black eyed peas, then dug them under.

Finally now, I have a crop of thick clover going which I will leave thru the winter til next spring. I'll fork that under then and finally plant a crop. I wonder if that's too much? This is a spot that has never been gardened before.

Nah -- sounds great! What will you plant there? Sounds like you had a lot of N fixation going on. So a heavy feeder?

You have added biomass and some nutrients. You should be good to go.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The first thing that comes to mind is...corn!
