Planting new tomatoes

Do you guys think that if I plant new tomatoes that they would grow and be harvestable befor frost hits? I live in Charlotte nc

Depends. Looks like your average first frost date is around Nov 5. If you planted tomato seed now, depending on variety, you might just be getting your first ripe tomato when frost would shut it all down. However, if you wanted to go to a good local nursery and buy a well started tomato plant (presuming they still have some), that skips you past the first month or so of seedling starting/ growing, meaning you could have tomatoes for a month or so before they got shut down.

I plant new tomatoes every few weeks all summer the new plants do much better than the 4 month old plants. I planted new tomatoes again 2 weeks ago the 4 plants are 6" tall we hope to get tomatoes from those plants about Halloween that is usually first frost for us. I will keep the plants covered when it frost and hope for the best. Several times we have had tomatoes for Christmas dinner.
