White Stuff is Good Fungus? With pic.

Busy day in the garden today. Sorry for all the posts. lol
I'm looking at some of the plants that did not do very well in the last month to see what I did wrong. I did find that the drain holes I drilled on many of my buckets were not large enough and that cause some of the buckets to hold a lot of water.
Fixed that. While I was looking at some of the dead plants I noticed white dust around their roots.

Hard to see in the photo but the roots had this white dust on them and there was more dust in the soil where the roots were. This is a fungus? Is it good or bad?

It is a fungus it shows up on decaying matter. It is part of the natural process of decay. I would not reuse that soil until the fungus has done its job breaking down all the dead matter (roots) in the pot. If you keep it on the side and let it dry out it will be useable later.
