It was found in an allotment in Birmingham over the weekend. It sort of looks like a thistle but has a curved tip of the stem with small, purple flowers on it.
Can anyone recognise it?

It's always more helpful if you can show us the leaves as well, even if picked.
The flowers are similar to the vipers bugloss, but I'm not sure because it seems those are usually more in spikes:

but I don't know what it is.... if you can find a leaf belonging with those flowers, it would help
